MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) – A Moorhead man charged with shooting and killing an acquaintance last July has pleaded guilty to murder in the 2nd degree without intent in Clay County District Court.
Jamal Ahmed, 36, was identified as the suspect who shot 37-year-old Franky Torres in the head while Torres was fighting with another man over an alleged sexual assault in a parking lot near Romkey Park in Moorhead.
Ahmed was picked out of a six-person lineup even though he tried to change his appearance by cutting his hair and dreadlocks.
Ahmed is being held without bond until sentencing which is set for May 7.
