MINNEAPOLIS โ University of Minnesota doctorsin-training have filed to unionize with the largest doctorโs union in the country.
About 1,000 resident physicians and fellows cited โunsustainable working conditionsโ and high stress as reasons for the move, which they say could lead to burnout and effect their decision to stay in Minnesota after training.
One student-doctor said he and other sometimes work 80 hours a week for as little as $16 an hour.
A university representative acknowledged the unionization process and expressed a commitment to labor relations.
