Capt. Deric Swenson
MOORHEAD (KFGO KVRR) – Moorhead’s Acting Deputy Police Chief has been placed on paid administrative leave.
City Manager Dan Mahli says Captain Deric Swenson, who is also a police department spokesman, was placed on administrative leave after a complaint was filed.
The allegations in the complaint have not been released with the city citing the state’s data practices act. It’s not clear whether the complaint was filed by someone inside, or outside department. An internal email from Police Chief Shannon Monroe late Friday afternoon indicates that Swenson was placed on leave “effective immediately.”
Swenson joined the department in November of 2000.
