FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – A crowd of protesters lined up in front of the post office in downtown Fargo Sunday as part of nationwide protests aimed at President Trump’s proposed changes to the US Postal Service.
Trump has suggested moving the Postal Service under the umbrella of the Commerce Department or even privatizing it entirely.
Postal advocates say such decisions would be disastrous for the country.
“If the postal service got in the hands of private corporations, they would be looking to make a profit, and any areas that are not profitable would likely not receive service,” explained Cory Carter, president of the North Dakota State Association of Letter Carriers.
