CHISAGO CITY, Minn. โ Multiple children were injured, including one child critically, in a two-vehicle crash in Chisago County in eastern Minnesota.
The sheriffโs office says the crash involved in a compact car carrying a adult and two children and a mini-van with one adult and three children. Investigators say they believe the driver of the car crossed the center line and struck the van head-on.
Impairment is suspected to have played a role in the crash. Toxicology results are pending. A 4-year-old boy remains in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Another child, a 3-year-old, has been released from the hospital and is in protective care. Both of the children were in the car with the suspected impaired driver.
The car driver, a 36-year-old woman, was released from the hospital and was taken into custody. Charges are pending.
