ST. PAUL, Minn. – The deadline for Minnesota cannabis businesses to apply for the license lottery is midnight Friday.
Office of Cannabis Management interim director Eric Taubel told state lawmakers that March 14 is when the window closes and the work of the office truly begins. He says they anticipate the lotteries will start sometime in May or June.
A pre-approval lottery for social equity licenses was canceled in December due to lawsuits. Minnesota legalized cannabis use and cultivation in August of 2023 – but the retail market has yet to open.
