FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) — Fargo Police Sgt. Zach Robinson has received the 2024 Pitsenbarger Award from the Air Force Sergeants Association Saturday.
The national recognition is given to enlisted Airmen who display extraordinary courage and selflessness in life-threatening situations.
Robinson was honored for his heroism during the July 14, 2023, ambush on Fargo police officers which killed Officer Jake Wallin and injured Officers Tyler Hawes and Andrew Dotas and an innocent bystander.
Robinson’s actions stopped the shooter.
“I, along with the Airmen of the 119th Wing, truly appreciate all that our first responders provide our community and couldn’t be prouder of Master Sgt. Robinson for his service in and out of the military uniform,” said Col. Christopher M. Domitrovich, 119th Wing Commander.
Robinson is a Master Sgt. in the North Dakota Air National Guard and is the 119th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron weapons load standardization crew team chief.
