GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) โ The National Weather Service says a cold front will bring strong winds Thursday night into Friday with widespread gusts over 45 mph and more localized gusts to 60 mph in the central and southern Red River Valley where a high wind warning will be in effect from midnight to 5 p.m. Friday.
Minnesota counties in the warning area are Norman, West Polk and Clay along with Cass, Steele and Traill counties in North Dakota.
The weather service warns that snow squalls are possible with the passage of the cold front from early Friday morning to midday.
These typically cause whiteouts and rapidly changing driving conditions.
