Shane Koenig (Cass Co. jail)
WEST FARGO (KFGO) โ A West Fargo man was arrested after leading West Fargo Police on a pursuit early Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for the department says around 12:15 a.m., an officer tried to make a traffic stop in the 400 block of 32nd Avenue E., but the driver fled. The officer pursued the suspect north on Sheyenne Street and then west on 26th Avenue W.
The pursuit ended when the officer used a pursuit intervention technique to stop the vehicle.
Police say the suspect, identified as 55-year-old Shane Koenig, would not comply with instructions, so pepperball rounds were deployed into the vehicle. Officers removed Koenig from the vehicle and took him into custody.
After he was cleared at a hospital, Koenig was booked into the Cass County jail for fleeing, DUI, terrorizing, preventing arrest, driving under suspension, and an outstanding warrant.
