
ST. CLOUD, Minn. (KFGO/WJON) – St. Cloud Police continue to investigate a weekend shooting that left a 17-year-old boy dead.
Police say officers were called just before 3:00 a.m. Sunday to the 200 block of 2nd Street NE for a report of gunshots being fired inside the building. Officers found a 19-year-old man with gunshot wounds in the first-floor hallway. The 17-year-old was found with a gunshot wound in the stairwell area between the first and second floors.
The 19-year-old is from St. Joseph. He was taken to St. Cloud Hospital with critical injuries. The 17-year-old was identified as Layson Davis from St. Cloud. He was dead at the scene. Police have not released the name of the 19-year-old who remains in critical condition.
Police say the suspects and the victims knew each other, and the shooting was not random.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension is assisting in the investigation.
