FARGO (KFGO) โ The wife of a former Fargo Police officer whoโs battling brain cancer is now facing her own cancer battle.
Amanda Fauske was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer caused by an auto-immune disease. Her husband, Tyrell, a former Fargo Police sergeant, medically retired in 2023 due to his cancer treatments. Tyrell has stage four glioblastoma, a type of brain cancer. Amanda was an elementary music teacher in West Fargo, but left to care for her husband in 2023.
Due to the cancerโs rarity, Amandaโs will now have to take medical leave to spend time at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. A Lend a Hand Up fundraiser to help the Fauskeโs has raised over $18,000 as of Saturday morning.
A GoFundMe created for Tyrell raised over $50,000.
