ROBBINSDALE, Minn. (KFGO/WCCO) – The Robbinsdale Police Department announced the arrest of two suspects in connection to a deadly shooting in early-December.
Police say the 16- and 17-year-old year old boys are facing homicide charges after evidence tied the two to the Dec. 2 shooting death of 22-year-old Treyvon Molette.
Robbinsdale police Captain John Elder recalled the night police discovered Mollette.
“Officers arrived, located a single vehicle crash on Indiana, south of Lowry,” Elder says. “In that vehicle, officers located a single occupant, an adult male sitting behind the steering wheel who appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.”
Investigators believe Molette had been in the area to sell drugs, but could draw no clear connection between the suspects and the victim.
Captain Elder says the 16-year-old is in custody in Hennepin County and the 17-year-old is awaiting extradition from a North Dakota detention center.
