ST. PAUL, Minn. – The latest numbers show Minnesota hunters harvested more than 170,000 deer during the 2024 season.
The DNR’s Todd Froberg says it is a 7% increase from last year and 3% lower than the five-year mean.
He says the harvest was slightly higher than expected based on the conservative bag limits.
Froberg believes last year’s warm winter helped increase deer populations, especially in northeastern Minnesota.
