BINFORD, N.D. (KFGO) – The FBI is now investigating a report of water contamination in eastern North Dakota.
On Wednesday, the Griggs County Commission notified residents of Binford the city’s water may be contaminated and told them not to drink, cook with, or bathe in it until it’s found to be safe. The State Department of Environmental Quality lifted the restrictions Thursday after water tests came back negative.
An FBI spokesperson confirmed Friday that a suspect is in custody, but would not provide further details or identify the suspect.
Even though tests were negative, the city’s water mains were flushed as a precaution.
