ST. PAUL – Officials hope a new state fraud investigation unit will help curb future instances of fraud.
Minnesota IT Commissioner Tarek Tomes says they’re launching a proposed artificial intelligence pilot program.
He says, “We want to use artificial intelligence to help us spot potential payment problems before a complaint or claim is submitted, we must leverage new AI capabilities to protect services and crucial funds.”
The program, along with other measures announced by Governor Tim Walz, would require legislative approval when lawmakers return to the State Capitol on January 14.
