Man safe after pickup, ice house break through ice in central Minnesota

ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (KFGO) – An Alexandria man is safe after his ice house and pickup broke through the ice on Lake Mary.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says Christopher Block, 40, drove over a pressure ridge between Little Mary and Big Mary. The ice was about 3 to 4 inches thick and the water was about 4 feet deep.

The DNR assisted at the scene.
