FARGO (KFGO KVRR) – A Fargo man is in jail, accused of driving a stolen vehicle to Scheels, where he allegedly stole merchandise from the store on 45th St. S.
Police were called to the store on Monday to locate a stolen vehicle from Moorhead. The vehicle was tracked on the Fargo Police Department’s FLOCK license plate reading system. Scheels employees helped police identify both people in the stolen vehicle. When they exited the store, they were detained by officers.
The passenger of the vehicle denied knowing the vehicle was stolen or that the other person had stolen merchandise. He was released.
The driver, 29-year-old Alexander Hoover, had the stolen vehicle’s keys and was captured on video shoplifting merchandise. Hoover was arrested and taken to the Cass County Jail for possession of stolen vehicle and shoplifting charges.
The stolen vehicle was returned to the registered owner.
