WATERTOWN, S.D. – Watertown police say a Texas man faces charges for allegedly firing several gunshots in the city following an argument Thursday night.
Police were called just after 10:30 p.m. Witnesses say the person who fired the gunshots fled in a blue pickup.
Police quickly found the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. Jayveon Russell of Duncanville, Texas was arrested.
Russell, 19, is charged with several counts including Aggravated Assault, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Possessing a Loaded Firearm While Intoxicated, and DUI.
Investigators found several loaded guns, ammunition, open alcohol containers, and marijuana in Russell’s pickup.
Russell was booked into jail on a $5,000 cash bond.
No one was hurt and no property was damaged in the shooting.
