ST. PAUL, Minn. (KFGO) – A special election will be needed to fill the open seat in the Minnesota House.
Democratic candidate Curtis Johnson says he will not appeal a court decision that overturned his victory in the District 40 B house race. A judge ruled against Johnson, saying he lied about his residency during the campaign.
Governor Tim Walz has called a special election to fill the vacancy for January 28. If necessary, a special primary election for the nomination of candidates will be held January 14.
The district covers Roseville and Shoreview.
