MINNEAPOLIS – The organization Protect Minnesota is out with a new report analyzing gun violence in the state in 2023.
The report shows the state had 530 gun-related deaths, which was down from 569 in 2022. Still, the organization says that number is too high and is calling on lawmakers to continue to make changes.
Protect Minnesota Executive Director Maggiy Emery says the state needs stronger safe storage laws and better reporting of lost and stolen firearms.
