ROSEAU, Minn. (KFGO) – A 65-year-old Warroad man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in the shooting death of his wife.
David Corneliusen shot 65-year-old Mary Corneliusen in their home near Warroad on August 23, 2023. She was shot with a handgun during an argument.
Corneliusen entered a Norgaard plea. He admitted that the evidence was strong enough for a jury to convict him, but does not remember the circumstances of the crime.
With credit for time served, he is expected to spend about 13 years in prison. He will be on probation for the remainder of the sentence after his release.
