FARGO (KFGO/KVRR) – Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a invitation to Scheels in Fargo to receive a gift.
Scheels and Shield 616, a charity focused on helping first responders, donated rifle plates to the Sheriff’s Office.
Rifle plates are protective inserts that help deflect bullets.
The founder of Shield 616, Jake Skifstad, started the charity after a shooting in Colorado Springs in 2015.
“So we want to make sure they are protected against those threats, so we donate angel armors all day, rifle-rated plates to first responders all across the country,” Skifstad said.
“We feel blessed and we feel honored this morning to be, to have their partnership and the community’s support,” Cass County Sheriff Jesse Jahner.
The Sheriff’s Office received 60 rifle plates.
