WALKER, Minn. – A woman was hit and killed by an SUV in northern Minnesota over the weekend.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says it happened Saturday.
The SUV was westbound on Gull Lake Dam Road and slowed because of a pickup that was stopped. The pickup driver was talking to a pedestrian walking along the road. The SUV driver lost control on the icy road and hit the pedestrian. The 34-year-old woman from Brainerd was taken to St. Cloud Hospital, where she later died.
A blood sample was collected from the SUV driver, a 57-year-old man from Nisswa to determine whether he had been drinking.
