
PELICAN RAPIDS, Minn. (KFGO) – Two people from Pelican Rapids suffered injuries in a crash north of Pelican Rapids Thursday night.
The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. on Highway 59.
The State Patrol says 28-year-old Mercedes Mondragon was northbound in an SUV and 55-year-old Steven Kieffer was southbound in a car when the two vehicles collided head-on.
Kieffer was taken to Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with life-threatening injuries. Mondragon suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Detroit Lakes Hospital.
Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Pelican Rapids Police, Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office, Pelican Rapids Fire, and Ringdahl Ambulance assisted at the scene.
