ST. PAUL, Minn. – A new cyber security requirement is now in effect in the state of Minnesota.
Public agencies are now mandated to report cyber security incidents to Minnesota IT Services to enhance the state’s ability to detect, respond to, and mitigate cyber threats.
Gov. Tim Walz signed the bill into law in May. It applies to a wide range of organizations including state public agencies, government contractors and vendors, and school districts, charter schools and public post-secondary institutions.
The new requirement started on Sunday.
