FARGO (KFGO) – A Cass County Sheriff’s deputy has resigned due to an investigation into his alleged criminal activity.
The Sheriff’s Office was notified in September that the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation was investigating Deputy Carson Quam.
The Sheriff’s Office says it was unaware of any criminal activity by Quam and didn’t release the information in September because it was an active and ongoing investigation by another agency.
“Anytime criminal allegations are made against one of his employees, his office will always work with the investigating and prosecuting agencies to ensure the integrity of the case.If criminal activity is substantiated, it will not be tolerated,” Jahner says. “My Office will always strive through rigorous background checks, department training, and accountability to put the best deputies in our communities to protect and serve our citizens.”
No further details are being released about the investigation.
The case will be reviewed by the Grand Forks and Cass County State’s Attorney’s offices.
