Twin Cities teenager dies after being struck while walking on highway

MAPLEWOOD, Minn. (KFGO) – A 17-year-old was killed when he was hit by a vehicle while walking on a highway in the Twin Cities Monday morning.   

The State Patrol says the teenager was hit by an SUV driven by a 30-year-old Maplewood man. He died at the scene.   

The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. on Highway 61 near Highway 36 in Maplewood.
