ST. PAUL, MINN. – Minnesota’s flu season is off to a slow start this fall.
State Department of Health Epidemiologist Jeff Sanders says there was a prolonged season last year.
He says so far, there’s been a “little bit” behind last year but we expect to see respiratory virus activity increasing in the coming weeks.
Sanders says now is a good time to get vaccinated going into the holidays. There have been 22 flu-related hospitalizations and two school outbreaks this season in Minnesota.
