OTTER TAIL COUNTY, MINN. – On Tuesday, November 5, a fire destroyed a barn near Wadena in Otter Tail County.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office received the call around 5:30 p.m. Deputies and the Wadena Fire Department responded quickly. By the time crews arrived, the barn was fully engulfed in flames.
Authorities believe an electrical issue sparked the blaze. While some sheep were rescued, ten sheep died inside the barn. No other injuries were reported.
Fire departments from Deer Creek, Bluffton, Verndale, and Henning supported the efforts to control the fire, but the barn was a total loss.
