FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KFGO) – What was thought to be human remains in the Otter Tail River turned out to be Halloween decorations.
The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday on a report of possible human remains in the river west of Fergus Falls city limits.
Investigators from the Fergus Falls Police Department, Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, and the Sheriff’s Office found the remains and determined they were Halloween decorations that had been in the river for an extended amount of time.
