MINNEAPOLIS – A federal judge is dismissing a civil lawsuit filed by the family of Ricky Cobb II against Minnesota State Trooper Ryan Londregan for Cobb’s fatal shooting.
U.S. District Judge Nancy Brasel granted Londregan’s motion to dismiss, saying he acted “reasonably” when he shot Cobb who was trying to pull away from a traffic stop on Interstate 94 in Minneapolis in July 2023.
Cobb’s family sued Londregan and Trooper Brett Seide alleging unreasonable seizure and use of force.
Hennepin County prosecutors dismissed murder and manslaughter charges against Londregan in June.
