DICKINSON, N.D. (KFGO) – A Dickinson man is dead following an officer-involved shooting late Friday evening.
Officers responded to a domestic incident around 9:00, at a home in the 400 block of 10th Street E. Upon entry, officers encountered a 56-year-old man armed with a handgun. During the encounter, both the man and a Dickinson Police officer discharged their weapons.
The man sustained injuries and was transported to CHI St. Alexius hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The officer was not injured.
The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation has taken over the case, and the officer has been placed on administrative leave, which is standard procedure for such incidents.
