GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KFGO) – The Grand Forks Police Department is investigating a murder.
Shortly after 9 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a residence in the 100 block of Cherry Street on a report of an unresponsive man.
Responding officers found a 49-year-old man suffering from suspicious injuries. Life-saving measures were attempted and the man was transported to Altru Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The man’s name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Police say a person of interest has been identified, and it’s believed that person and the victim were known to each other. Because of the active investigation, the identity of this person of interest will not be released.
