MINNEAPOLIS (KFGO/WCCO) – Alcohol is believed to have been a factor in a Wednesday night crash involving seven vehicles just south of downtown Minneapolis that killed one person and injured several others.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a vehicle was traveling eastbound I-94 to Lyndale Avenue at a high rate of speed when it struck several other vehicles.
The driver of the speeding vehicle, a 32-year-old St. Paul man, had alcohol in his system according to the state patrol. His passenger, a 20-year-old St. Paul woman, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators have not released the name or age of the person killed. Several people involved suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Ages of those involved in the crash ranged from 2 to 63 years old.
