GRAND FORKS, N.D. (UND Athletics)– After opening the season with a victory, North Dakota jumped one spot to No. 5 in both the USCHO.com and USA Hockey/The Rink Live polls, which were released on Monday.
UND improved to 21-2-1 in home openers since 2001-02 on Saturday night following a 5-2 win over then-No. 13/11 Providence in the annual U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game from Ralph Engelstad Arena. Junior forward Dylan James struck for a pair of goals while senior forward Cameron Berg, freshman forward Sacha Boisvert and sophomore defenseman Abram Wiebe each recorded multiple points in the victory.
The Fighting Hawks are now 8-3-0 all-time in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game and 6-1-0 when hosting it at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
North Dakota hits the road for the first time this season to battle No. 20 Minnesota State beginning on Friday night at 7:07 p.m. Fans can watch the game on CCHA TV or listen on the Fighting Hawks Radio Network.
