EAGAN, Minn. (KFGO) — A Moorhead man is okay after being rescued from the top of a 250-foot-tall radio tower early Thursday morning in Eagan.
First responders were called to the tower for a man in crisis off Cliff Road. A Dakota County Special Operations Team member used high angle rope rescue techniques to climb the tower and grabbed the unidentified man, allowing them both to be lowered to the ground with ropes.
Investigators say the 51-year-old had to be treated for exposure to the cold after he was rescued. Eagan officers, firefighters, M-Health, and the Dakota County Special Operations Team assisted in bringing the situation to a safe ending. Police did not release the man’s name.
