ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (KFGO) – A truck driver was taken to the hospital in Alexandria when a 1000-gallon propane tank caught fire in a gravel pit.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says 60-year-old Joseph Notch of Freeport was filling two propane tanks for I-94 road construction when the fire broke out.
The Alexandria Fire Department put out the fire and cooled the tanks. there was damage to both propane tanks and delivery equipment owned by a Melrose oil company and two generators and a trailer owned by a St. Michael, Minnesota road construction company.
The fire department and the state fire marshal’s office are investigating.
