
BURLEIGH COUNTY, N.D. (KFGO) – North Dakota Highway Patrol says one person died in a two-vehicle crash on I-94, 7 miles east of Sterling in Burleigh County shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday.
A Dodge Caravan was traveling east on I-94 when it lost control, crossed the median into the westbound lanes, and collided with a Kenworth semi-truck and trailer traveling westbound in the right lane. The van struck the middle of the semi-trailer on the driver’s side and was then run over by the rear trailer tires.
The driver of the van, a 41-year-old year woman from Bismarck died at the scene
The semi-driver, a 73-year-old man from Mora, Minn. was not injured.
I-94 westbound lanes were closed for about 2 hours with traffic being diverted onto Old Highway 10.
