MOORHEAD (KFGO/KVRR) – The City of Moorhead is proposing a tax levy increase of $3.1 million to cover additional budget expenditures including wage and benefits, equipment, and increased spending on public safety to retain and hire officers.
It would mean a 4.9% tax increase and would amount to $8.74 per month for an average home valued around $235,000.
People can comment on the proposal at the regular city council meetings in October and November.
The final tax levy can be lowered, but not increased and it would be adopted on Dec. 9.
