
Minot Police Chief John Klug
MINOT, N.D. (KFGO) – Minot Police Chief John Klug has been placed on paid administrative leave while an internal investigation is underway.
In a statement, the city says the decision was made to ensure a thorough and impartial examination of recent information provided to city management. City Manager Harold Stewart is leading the investigation. He says it will assess consistency in past disciplinary actions, staff retention and morale. There’s no timeline for the investigation, which is in the early stages.
Police Captain Dale Plessas will serve as acting chief of police. Klug has been with the department for 30 years. He’s been police chief since early 2020.
