ST. CLOUD, Minn. – St. Cloud State University launched Minnesota’s first cannabis certificate programs one year ago, and the career training opportunities continue to grow.
Professional and Continuing Education director Abe Hedke says it’s been a great first year. He says they’ve had a chance to really explore the overall statewide interest in cannabis.
“We started with four programs back last fall, and we’ve actually added a fifth program,” Hedke says. “We’ve also added three of what we call career training short courses.”
The original certificates are in agriculture and horticulture, health care and medicine, cannabis business, and compliance and risk management, and the fifth is in product development and design.
Hedke says they have students from 100 different Minnesota communities and 20 from the Dakotas.
