Isaac Arndt (Clay County Correctional Center)
MOORHEAD (KFGO KVRR) โ Bail has been set at $1 million with various conditions for the man accused of killing a 14-year-old girl and leaving her body near the river in Moorhead last week.
Isaac Arndt, 18, has made his first Minnesota court appearance in Moorhead. He was arrested in Fargo on a murder charge.
He is facing up to 40 years in prison for second-degree murder for the stabbing death of 14-year-old Jaelyn Walker. In Minnesota, a first-degree murder charge can only be filed after a grand jury indictment.
Walker would have started school as a freshman this week. Court documents say Arndt admitted to police that he stabbed his ex-girlfriend 13 times.
He initially claimed they had been followed in gooseberry park. During the investigation Arndt admitted to cutting Walkerโs throat, giving her a hug, stabbing her one more time in the back and dragging her body to the river before leaving the scene.
