FARGO (KFGO) โ Fargo Police are investigating a homicide in the 2202 12th Ave. S.
Fargo Police Captain Matt Christensen said one man was taken to a hospital by ambulance. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced dead. He was identified Saturday as 35-year-old Sampson Bleh from Fargo. Bleh was shot in the chest.
Police say the suspect fled the scene before they arrived. Fargo Police Captain Bill Ahlfeldt said officers detained one person at The Arbors, which is a few blocks north of the shooting.
A Moorhead Police K-9 was on scene. Police surrounded the apartment building next to the building where the shooting happened. Officers had guns aimed at a second-story unit for about an hour before standing down. Itโs unclear how long it took officers to learn the suspect fled.
Most of the officers on scene left around 3 p.m.
Ahlfeldt says officers are working on locating and speaking to witnesses who may have seen the actual shooting. He says there is no danger to the public since the shooter and victim knew one another.
Fargo Police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Fargo Police Department.
