HORACE, N.D. (KFGO) โ Upgraded charges have been filed against a Horace woman accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that left three girls with serious injuries.
According to court records, McKenzie Moser, 18, was arrested after the head-on crash June 13 in Horace and had a blood-alcohol level of .194 โ over twice the legal limit for driving.
Two 16-year-old girls and a 14-year-old girl were in the other car.
Moser and the three girls all suffered head wounds. Two of the girls suffered broken vertebrae and one had a broken bone in her lower leg. A third girl suffered a lacerated spleen.
Two of the girls were taken to a hospital by ambulance and one was flown from the scene by Sanford AirMed.
At least two of the girls needed surgery. One of the girls was hospitalized for five days.
Moser had a head wound after the crash.
Witnesses said they saw the car driven by Moser speeding and swerving before the crash, nearly hitting them head-on. They also said Moserโs car had damage before the crash. That damage was from an earlier hit-and-run property crash in Fargo where officers found the front bumper and license plate for Moserโs car.
According to a report, Moser was uncooperative at the scene, screaming and yelling at officers and refusing medical treatment.
Moser is charged with criminal vehicular injury. Her next court appearance is Thursday.
