Pedestrian struck and killed by vehicle in Blaine

BLAINE, Minn. – The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating after a pedestrian was killed in a crash Thursday evening in Blaine. 

The report says an SUV was entering an intersection with a green light on Highway 47 when a woman attempted to cross and was struck. 

Troopers say Lavonne Piipke, 47, died at the scene. 

The SUV driver wasn’t hurt, and alcohol was not involved.
