
HUBBARD, Minn. (KFGO) – Three people were injured in a five-car crash just northwest of Hubbard, Minnesota Friday night.
The Minnesota State Patrol says just before 9 p.m. a pickup pulling a car was west on Highway 87 near Bunting Drive, and was stopped. A second car came up behind the first car and braked. A third vehicle, an SUV, driven by 53-year-old Jason Hafics, came up behind the second car and hit it. The SUV also crossed the centerline and hit a fourth car that was driving east.
The driver of the second car, Jeffrey Kucera, 39, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Sanford in Fargo.
A passenger in the fourth car, 19-year-old Marisa Parks from Park Rapids, was not seriously injured and taken to CHI St. Joseph’s in Park Rapids.
Hafics was injured in the crash and was also taken to St. Joseph’s. The State Patrol says he was drunk driving.
No one else was injured in the pileup.
