District 1 – Baudette area

CO Ben Huener (Roseau) checked anglers on the Roseau River, Hayes Lake, and Lake of the Woods. ATV and off-highway motorcycle activity was monitored near Roseau and Badger. Enforcement action was taken on anglers in possession of illegal-length walleyes, angling with extra lines, and a group of five anglers with over their limit of walleyes.
CO Tony Hams (Warroad North) spent the week checking area anglers and following up with various complaints. Four orphaned raccoon kits were caught and will be brought to a rehab facility. Violations encountered were angling with extra lines and failing to have sufficient PFDs on board. Anglers were reporting success on the south shore of Lake of the Woods in 5 to 10 feet of water pulling spinners with crawlers.
CO Coby Fontes (Warroad South) spent the week patrolling Lake of the Woods and Upper Red Lake. Enforcement action was taken for the use of an extra line, possession of an illegal-length fish, and possession of an overlimit. Most notably, enforcement action was taken against two separate groups of anglers for possessing nearly double the legal limit of walleyes and saugers. Fontes encourages anglers to follow possession regulations because not doing so directly impacts the wellbeing of the lake.
CO Nicholas Prachar (Baudette West) reports increased ATV and boating activity. Time was spent patrolling Lake of the Woods for angling activity and water safety.
CO Jeremy Woinarowicz (Thief River Falls West) assisted with a gray wolf-depredation investigation, responded to numerous nuisance-bear complaints, checked area anglers, and monitored ATV activity. Enforcement action for the week included angling without a valid license, allowing riding on the bow of a watercraft, and insufficient number of life jackets.
CO Sarah Jahn (Thief River Falls East) spent time handling wolf-depredation complaints. Time was also spent on Upper Red Lake and an AIS detail was worked with other COs.
CO Nick Bruesewitz (Karlstad) checked anglers on the Red Lake River, the Red River, and Lake of the Woods. He also patrolled for ATV activity. Time was also spent assisting with an AIS check station. Enforcement action was taken for failure to display registration, operating an ATV with youthful passengers without a helmet, and various boating safety violations.
CO Brice Vollbrecht (Blackduck North) monitored angling activity on Upper Red Lake. Time was spent patrolling Blackduck-area lakes and returning phone calls regarding nuisance bears. He worked an AIS detail in District 1.

District 2 – Bemidji area

CO Andrew Ladzinski (Bemidji #1) spent time patrolling area lakes and ATV trails. He assisted with instructing youth on a variety of topics at a firearms safety field day and completed a ride-along with a DNR intern. Calls about potential litter and dumping on public land were also fielded.
CO Jake Swedberg (Detroit Lakes) assisted at the CO Academy this past week and spent time checking boaters and anglers on area lakes. Time was also spent following up on some shoreline complaints and answering questions about permitted and unpermitted work landowner can do along the shoreline.
CO Jordan Anderson (Osage) handled a variety of wildlife-related complaints, with bears being the most common subject. Several area lakes were worked, with a slow bite reported. Enforcement action was taken for a variety of boating and fishing related violations.
CO Bill Landmark (Moorhead) spent the week following up with nuisance-wildlife calls and assisting with training at the CO Academy. Time was also spent investigating shoreline complaints, speaking at a lake association meeting, and participating in an aquatic invasive species detail near Baudette.
CO Angie Warren (Mahnomen) spent time on angling and boating activity. Patrol was conducted for ATV and off-road vehicles. Miscellaneous wildlife-related calls were received, and information was provided. Warren also worked an AIS compliance detail and completed follow up on a public water complaint.
CO Brady Manteufel (Bagley) checked angling and boating activity. Assistance was also provided at a firearms safety class in Bemidji where 45 youth attended the field day. Enforcement action was taken for camping at a public water access and information, such as dumping ashes and cattails at another access, was followed up on. Wetland violations were also followed up on.
CO Jamus Veit (Bemidji #2) worked a boating enforcement detail on Upper Red Lake and an AIS check station near Baudette. Time was also spent checking area anglers, ATV enforcement, and handling various wildlife-related complaints.

District 3 – Fergus Falls area

CO Hanna Wood (Fergus Falls) spent the week assisting with the CO Academy and working on safety projects. She gave a ?Sumer Safety? presentation at Otter Tail Power that focused on boating and ATV safety.
CO Tricia Plautz (Henning) assisted local authorities with a search and rescue operation. Fishing and boating enforcement were conducted, as were invasive species checks. Injured-animal calls have been handled.
CO Ryan Brown (Elbow Lake) checked anglers, boaters, and ATV riders throughout the week. Enforcement action this past week included fishing without an angling license and no life jacket on board watercraft. Fishing success was decent for anglers. The most common fish seen in live wells were walleyes.
CO Shane Osborne (Evansville) completed equipment maintenance and investigations on commercial minnow harvest violations. Public speaking requests were received in the Fergus Falls station with planning upcoming events. Fishing license questions were received and answered.
CO Jake Homan (Alexandria) spent the week patrolling Douglas County. A law and ethics talk and field day was attended for a local firearms safety class. Time was spent assisting Otter Tail County with a missing man in the Henning area. Enforcement action was taken on ATV violations, burning violations, and several boating violations.
CO Felicia Znajda (Osakis) focused her time this past week checking anglers and ATV riders. There were a variety of fishing reports, with overall lots of fish in the buckets. She took multiple trespassing complaints and a variety of enforcement action throughout the week.
CO Emily Douvier (Morris) reports working fishing and boating enforcement. Enforcement action was taken for various violations.
CO Daniel Baumbarger (Glenwood) reports enforcement efforts for the week were concentrated on checking anglers and boaters. Additional time was spent fielding nuisance-beaver complaints and assisting the Otter Tail County Sheriff?s Office with a search for a missing elderly man.
