FARGO (KFGO) – A Fargo woman will face charges after she left her car in the middle of a lane on I-29 in Fargo to chase a cat and causing a crash.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol says Hailey Kindem, 25, was driving south on I-29 under the I-94 bridge just before 3 p.m. Monday when she saw a cat jump out of a pickup and run into the ditch. Kindem stopped her car and left it in the west-most lane, and got out to chase the cat.
Shortly after Kindem got out of her car, Keely Olson, 21, from Enderlin, ND, rear-ended Kindem’s car.
Olson was not wearing a seatbelt, but her airbags went off. She was taken to a Fargo hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Kindem was not injured since she was not in her car when it was hit. She was cited for misdemeanor aggravated reckless driving and driving without a license.
The cat was not located.
