MINOT, N.D. (KFGO) – The Minot Police Department received reports of multiple people fighting and possible gunshots in the area 10 block of 1st Ave SE on Sunday, at approximately 3:10 A.M.
Upon arrival, officers completed a high-risk traffic stop on a suspect vehicle leaving the scene. Officers took Laquint Tydelle Sarvis, 23, from Fayetteville, NC., into custody and seized a firearm from the vehicle. Two male victims sustained gunshot injuries and were transported to Trinity Hospital. One victim, a 21-year-old male, sustained minor injuries to his hand and was treated and released. The second victim, a 36-year-old male, sustained injuries to his abdomen and had to underwent surgery for his injuries.
In accordance with Marsy’s Law, we will not release any additional victim information.
Sarvis is charged with Reckless Endangerment (Class C Felony) and Felon in Possession of a Firearm (Class C Felony).
Sarvis was transported to Trinity for a gunshot injury to his foot he sustained in return gunfire during the incident. Once he is released from Trinity he will be transported to the Ward County Jail.
