A 17-year-old girl is dead after a head-on crash east of Park Rapids in northern Minnesota’s Hubbard County Thursday morning.
The State Patrol says Alyssa Wheeler of Longville was driving a car east on Highway 34 when a pickup driven by 50-year-old Don Sherman of Akeley crossed the centerline and hit Wheeler’s car.
Wheeler died at the scene. Sherman suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts. The State Patrol says alcohol was not a factor.
The Hubbard County sheriff’s Office, Park Rapids Police, and Akeley Police responded to the scene.
